solar photovoltaic based smart farming system

- embedded c
- power electronics
- electrical machines
- arduino ide
- Led a team of 4 members in developing and demonstrating the advanced and automated smart farming system with Solar PV panels as a power source.
- Avoided manual irrigation in the farming process by implementing the smart farming system which can be operated remotely wherever in the world.
- This proposed project utilizes naturally available solar energy to produce electricity for irrigation purposes and reduces the water losses which is happening in the Irrigation System by adopting the Internet of Things-based micro irrigation method.
- The traditional irrigation methods lead to more water usage than required where manpower is also needed to monitor the field periodically. By using drip irrigation in which the water drops near the plants’ root zone in dripping motion, optimal usage of water is achieved. Measurements and annunciations are made available using sensor units. Indication of all parameters regarding plant (crop) and soil to the farmer reduces the manpower. Solar energy is utilized since it is renewable, inexhaustible, and environmentally pollution free. PV arrays help in enhancing the simplicity of the system as well as reduce the overall cost of the
system. These also help in reducing the dependency on the main energy grid and the electricity bill.
